Working in Zante 2027: Jobs, Pay and How It Works

Two friends sitting on the clifftop at Mizithres, Zante, looking out at the sea stacks and blue water

So you've seen the videos: sunsets over the sea, packed bars on the Laganas strip, and a gang of mates who look like they've known each other forever. Then you find out half of them are actually working there for the summer, and you start wondering whether you could do the same.

Short answer: yes, plenty of young people spend a summer living and working in Zante. Here's a straight-talking guide to what the jobs are, how pay tends to work, where you'd live, and how Top Dog Abroad fits into it all for summer 2027.

Why work in Zante?

Zante (also known as Zakynthos) is a Greek island, and Laganas is its famous party resort. It's busy all summer, with bars, clubs and beach venues that need staff to keep the season running.

Caoimhe, a 23-year-old from Kildare who spent last summer working in Zante with us, put it pretty simply: it's one of the busiest party resorts in Europe, big-name artists play there every summer, and she found it very cost effective compared to a lot of other resorts. "If you want a summer of sun, music and making money, it ticks every box."

The other big draw is the lifestyle. Most resort jobs are night-time jobs, which means your days are usually your own: pool, beach, exploring the island, or just recovering from the night before.

What Zante jobs are there?

Positions vary by resort and venue, but these are the kinds of seasonal roles commonly available in our destinations (you can read more on our jobs page):

  • Bar work – serving drinks in bars and clubs, right in the middle of the resort atmosphere.
  • PR – chatting to holidaymakers, promoting a venue and getting people through the door.
  • Club representative – promoting events, helping with venue operations and front-of-house work.
  • Ticket seller – selling events across the resort; a social, flexible and usually commission-led role.
  • Shot seller – working inside busy venues and earning through sales.
  • VIP hostess – looking after tables and guests in clubs and beach venues.
  • DJ – playing bars, clubs and events and reading the crowd.
  • Waiting staff – serving food and drinks in restaurants, hotels, bars and beach clubs, on day or night shifts.
  • Security – helping venues run safely with calm, professional crowd management.

Some jobs don't fit neatly into a box, either. Caoimhe's role was doing social media for two venues on the strip, The Loft and Toucan Club, filming interviews with customers and videos of the crowd and DJs for Instagram and TikTok.

What do venues look for?

According to our jobs page, confidence, reliability and good people skills are essential. You don't necessarily need years of experience. Caoimhe had no professional social media background; being comfortable chatting to people on camera did most of the work for her.

How does pay work in Zante?

This is the bit everyone wants to know, so let's be honest about it: there's no single "Zante wage". In Zante, pay, hours, benefits and working conditions are agreed directly with the employing venue, so it depends on the job, the venue and the role. Some roles, like ticket selling and shot selling, are often commission-led, meaning what you earn depends on what you sell.

To give you one real example: Caoimhe worked roughly four hours a night doing social media, which gives you a feel for how a resort job can work alongside a full summer of free days.

Her advice on budgeting before you go: bring enough to cover your flight and your accommodation until your first wages come in.

How Top Dog Abroad helps you find work

The scariest part of a season for most people is the thought of landing in resort and spending your first week walking the strip handing out CVs in the heat.

That's where our reps come in. Top Dog Abroad's reps work to arrange participants' seasonal jobs before they arrive in resort. Caoimhe's job was organised before she even landed: "I arrived knowing exactly where I'd be working."

Here's how it works: your job is lined up and offered to you before you even land in resort, and you're guaranteed a trial – after that, it's down to you to keep it. In Zante, your accommodation and your job are kept separate. For an overview of the roles and how to apply, see our jobs in Zante page.

Where you'll live

Our Zante workers' accommodation is on the Laganas side of the island, around Kalamaki Road. It's approximately:

  • 5 minutes from the beach
  • 7 minutes from the Laganas strip
  • 3 minutes from a 24-hour shop

There's access to a pool nearby, plus kitchen facilities.

It's budget workers' accommodation, so think basic rather than boutique. Each booking is for one person, rooms are shared, and room allocations are arranged separately. You can add the names of friends travelling with you when you book, and we'll do our best to place friends together, though exact room arrangements are only confirmed once rooms are allocated.

Caoimhe described it as "nice and clean but basic", and said the thing that made the difference was the reps: if anyone had a problem, they fixed it, and they were always available.

Packages and prices

Stays come in one-, two- or three-month packages. A one-month stay in June, July or August starts from £549 per person, a two-month stay (June–July or July–August) is £1,249 per person, and the full three-month season from June to August is £1,650 per person. There's a £50 deposit option on one-month stays and a £100 deposit option on two- and three-month stays, with the balance paid according to the payment schedule shown on the product.

How to get started

  2. Choose your stay – one, two or three months; each booking is for one person.
  3. Secure your space – pay the displayed deposit and choose a balance-payment option.
